At Raimon Middle School, the soccer club faces imminent closure while rival schools pursue national prestige. Mamoru Endou, the grandson of the club's original goalkeeper and now its captain, resolves to restore the neglected team. He seeks out talented players, including Shuuya Gouenji, a gifted youth who has withdrawn from the sport.
