Synopsis

Set across centuries of a star-dated history, five Vidyadhara houses formed a solemn pact on the Yuque, committing to an oath described as firmer than earth or steel. Later eras saw conflict when the figure known as Imbibitor Lunae Dan Feng threatened a sacred grove, prompting the Cloud Knights and Vidyadhara Preceptors to mount a coalition against him. At the story's center is the declared successor of the Azure Dragon, depicted as divinely favored and charged with duties that blend ceremony and combat: performing a ritual dance to seal the Ambrosial Arbor, commanding rain and form as part of a sacred role, and taking part in battles where weapons fall like rain. Repeated visions haunt the successor—images of heroic action, of brutal punishment and confinement, and of wandering without direction in pervasive darkness. Across these dreams he appears alternately as dragon, hero, and sinner, repeatedly stripped of the ordinary spectrum of human emotions such as love, hate, sorrow, or joy, emphasizing a spiritual burden that isolates him from common feeling.
