Synopsis

In the world of professional sumo, competitors face no weight divisions and only the strongest prevail. Hinomaru Ushio is a small but exceptionally skilled and diligent boy whose stature disqualifies him from immediate entry into the professional ranks due to a minimum size rule. His aspiration is to reach Hinoshita Kaisan, the top tier of pro sumo, yet the only realistic route for him is to secure the High School Yokozuna title, awarded to the most powerful high school wrestler. Confronted by intense pressure and a limited timeframe, Ushio risks permanently losing the chance to turn professional if he cannot demonstrate his abilities in high school competitions. Rather than attending Ishigami High, the nation's premier sumo school, he enrolls at Odachi High where he must establish a sumo club from scratch alongside the sole committed member, Shinya Ozeki. Odachi High stands as a clear underdog within the sumo community, and Ushio must exert every ounce of effort and resolve if he hopes to reach the professional level.
