Synopsis

Umaru Doma presents herself at school as an exemplary pupil, but once she returns home she adopts a different identity: she dons a hamster hood and becomes a lethargic otaku addicted to convenience snacks. Her private routine and quirks gradually draw her classmates—Nana Ebina, Kirie Motoba, and Sylphinford Tachibana—closer, and a series of unusual incidents begins to unfold. As these situations develop, a number of questions emerge: what request did Nana make of Umaru’s brother Taihei, who is the enigmatic girl adorned with a diamond hairpin, and why does that girl appear to recognize Umaru? These mysteries and the evolving bonds among the characters are explored in Himouto! Umaru-chan R.
