Synopsis

Though many deities shun Xie Lian, Heavenly Emperor Jun Wu treats him kindly. Xie Lian endures persistent misfortune, and rumors link his recent companion to the notorious Ghost King Hua Cheng. Xie Lian remembers Hua Cheng’s vow that when they next meet, Hua Cheng will show his true form. Jun Wu warns him that a god’s distress signal originated from the Ghost City, a wealthy domain in the ghost realm ruled solely by Hua Cheng. Untroubled by entering Hua Cheng’s territory, Xie Lian goes into the city to search for the missing god. There he encounters Hua Cheng, the most feared figure across the three realms, whose pride noticeably softens in Xie Lian’s presence. Without explaining his motives, Hua Cheng spares no effort or resource in attempting to alleviate the long-standing hardships that have marked Xie Lian’s life.
