Synopsis

Ohana Matsumae is a lively, impulsive teenager who lives in Tokyo with her easygoing single mother. When her mother abruptly flees with a new partner to escape creditors, Ohana is left to survive on her own. Following her mother's directive to be self-reliant, she relocates to the countryside to live with a distant, emotionally reserved grandmother who runs a modest inn. Confronted with a slower, more disciplined rural rhythm, Ohana must learn the responsibilities and routines of inn work as a maid, adjust to a different social environment, and navigate forming connections with intriguing classmates and the diverse people who come through the inn. The story follows her efforts to fit into this quieter setting while managing practical challenges and developing new bonds.
