Synopsis

Set in a near future when humanity begins exploring deep space, people encounter a vast insect-like alien species intent on wiping out humanity as they close in on Earth. To counter this menace, nations build enormous combat mechs operated by carefully selected young pilots. Soon after contact, Noriko Takaya—the child of a celebrated deceased space captain—enrolls in a pilot training academy despite doubts about her skill. There she meets Kazumi Amano, an accomplished and poised rival whose presence challenges Noriko. Assigned to cooperate, the two must confront the psychological scars left by war while navigating fraught personal emotions and the pressures of defending the planet.
