Synopsis

In Hokkaido, rumors persist of a concealed hoard of gold taken from Ainu owners by a killer who, before his arrest, encoded the treasure’s location as tattoos on fellow inmates and promised them shares if they escaped. In the second season, First Lieutenant Tokushirou Tsurumi seeks an edge in the race for those tattooed skins by commissioning a taxidermist to produce animal hides that only he can tell are counterfeit. At the same time, Saichi “The Immortal” Sugimoto, Asirpa, and their allies continue to pursue leads on the tattooed maps, investigating reports such as a burglary in Yubari where taxidermied human remains were reportedly found, including a torso bearing unusual tattoos. The narrative follows competing parties and dangerous discoveries as they trace clues to the hidden treasure while tensions rise around identity, survival, and the legacy of the stolen gold.
