Synopsis

Shuuichi Kagaya appears to be a typical high school student, yet he intermittently transforms into a monster. Uncertain of the origin of his condition and preferring secrecy, he keeps this ability hidden. One night he rescues a girl named Claire Aoki from a burning building by changing into his monstrous form, but in the process he loses his phone. The following day Claire confronts Shuuichi at school, convinced he is the monster; after he refuses to admit it she pushes him from the roof to test her suspicion. Forced to shift to survive, Shuuichi is photographed by Claire, who uses the image to compel him to disclose what he knows about monsters—though his knowledge is limited. Claire reveals she has been searching for her sister, who also transformed into a monster, and recruits Shuuichi to assist in locating her. Together they pursue answers, while others are likewise drawn into the search.
