Synopsis

Set in 2027, one year after a non-nuclear World War IV concluded, the story follows the aftermath of an explosion in Newport City that kills a prominent arms dealer possibly connected to a clandestine entity known as the 501 Organization. Concerned about the implications, Public Security official Daisuke Aramaki engages Motoko Kusanagi, a specialist in full-body cybernetic prostheses and a highly skilled hacker, to carry out an inquiry into the incident. The narrative centers on the investigation, the technological and social landscape shaped by advanced cybernetic integration, and the tense pursuit of hidden threads linking criminal activity to powerful, secret forces while maintaining an atmosphere of caution and suspense.
