Synopsis

The Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture, commonly called Genshiken, functions under a more self-assured Sasahara after changes between semesters. A new member, Ogiue, brings an antagonistic attitude toward otaku interests, altering group dynamics. Sasahara pursues his plan to form a doujin circle and prepare fan-made magazines for the upcoming Comic Festival, but the effort meets unexpected difficulties and challenging realities, including situations that test social roles and presentation. Meanwhile, conversations within the club center on the evolving connection between Tanaka and Ohno, which progresses cautiously. The series observes the club’s adaptation to new personalities, creative ambitions, and interpersonal shifts within otaku culture.
