Synopsis

After being killed while heading home for his younger brother’s birthday, Masaru Katou regains consciousness in an unfamiliar room overlooking Tokyo and discovers he is not in the afterlife but in a waiting area for a deadly contest governed by a black sphere called Gantz. Deprived of time to understand his situation, he is issued a weapon and transported to Osaka with a clear, brutal objective: eliminate any alien on sight. Alongside him are the elderly Yoshikazu Suzuki, the popular idol Reika Shimohira, and the reserved, battle-hardened Jouichirou Nishi. Thrust into violent missions, Masaru must confront his fear and adapt quickly if he hopes to survive the challenges of the game and make it back to the brother who awaits him.
