Synopsis

Mikan Sakura, a cheerful and energetic ten-year-old, is close friends with the reserved and brilliant Hotaru Imai. When Hotaru moves to a renowned urban institution, Mikan is alarmed by disturbing rumors about the school's treatment of pupils and sets out to find her friend. At the academy she encounters "Alices," youths who possess a variety of supernatural talents, and soon learns she has a distinctive ability of her own. Determined to stay by Hotaru's side, Mikan enrolls and faces numerous obstacles before reuniting with her. The series blends warmhearted humor with school-life episodes as Mikan and her classmates navigate academy life and become involved in the mystery surrounding Natsume Hyuuga, a troubled student who can command fire.
