Synopsis

Centuries ago, the spirits of the Chinese zodiac and their deity vowed eternal unity, binding the Souma family through possession and an unbreakable promise. That inheritance forces each possessed member to return to one another under any circumstances, a connection intended as protection but experienced by many as confinement. Akito, the clan leader, insists on a distinctive spiritual link to the Soumas and clings to the control and illusion it provides, while most family members live cut off and subdued by the dread of retribution. Tooru Honda, who has formed close ties with the Soumas, resolves to dismantle the ties that restrict them. Her relationships with the family and friends give her the will to pursue lifting the ancestral burden, yet unexpected revelations challenge her resolve. Facing dwindling time and an uncertain path, Tooru persists in seeking a calm existence beyond the turmoil that envelops the family.
