Synopsis

Entering middle school forces Haruka Nanase and Makoto Tachibana to confront the adjustments of adolescence. Makoto adapts socially and keeps a positive outlook on swimming, while Haruka finds it hard to connect with peers or rejoin the swim team because past struggles with the sport linger. He withdraws from energetic classmates and avoids committing to a club, uncertain where he belongs. Their classmates, including Makoto, also face indecision about which club to join. A confrontation ultimately leads several boys to become members of the swimming club together. As they train, they work to synchronize their techniques, address their mixed feelings about swimming, and navigate the changing dynamics between them. Through focused effort and talent, Haruka, Makoto, and their friends gradually learn more about themselves and develop their abilities during these early school days.
