Synopsis

Cocona, a typical middle school student living with her grandmother and unsure about her future aims, encounters an unusual girl called Papika who invites her to join an organization named Flip Flap. Pulled along by Papika’s impulsive energy, Cocona is introduced to Pure Illusion, an odd alternate dimension where they search for crystal fragments. After completing one mission, they are transported to another area of Pure Illusion and are confronted by a dangerous creature. Using the crystals they carry, the two transform into magical fighters—Cocona as Pure Blade and Papika as Pure Barrier—to confront the threat. Before they can finish the battle, three individuals from a competing group arrive, eliminate the creature, and seize a fragment remaining from it. Faced with rivals who can interfere with their efforts and with further dangers in Pure Illusion, Cocona and Papika discover that they must develop teamwork and emotional alignment to achieve stronger, more reliable transformations.
