Two years have passed since a global catastrophe was averted, and the core members of Avalanche have dispersed into separate lives. Tifa Lockhart runs a newly opened bar, and Cloud Strife has launched a motorcycle courier business. Most old companions have drifted away, but Cloud and Tifa maintain a tenuous household with two young dependents, Marlene and Denzel. Their fragile domestic routine is destabilized when a contagious sickness spreads and waves of sorrow pull Cloud emotionally distant from his makeshift family. While seeking refuge in his work, Cloud is assaulted by three silver‑haired figures in dark uniforms who echo the appearance of his ancient adversary, Sephiroth. As this hostile trio begins to shadow Cloud and harm those close to him, he must confront inner turmoil and the danger of Sephiroth’s possible return in order to safeguard his family and resist the resurgence of that destructive will.
