Synopsis

Gaku Kitada, who has been captivated by mathematics since childhood, studies at the elite Wels Academy with hopes of reaching the Mathematics Olympiad and earning a place at the University of Tokyo to pursue a career as a mathematician. His plans collapse when anxiety and self-doubt cause him to fail to advance in the Olympiad and he opts out of future contests, a decision that results in his expulsion from the academy. In the midst of this setback, Gaku encounters Kai Asakura, a mysterious professional chef who notices Gaku's distinctive, mathematically informed approach to preparing food. Although hesitant at first, Gaku starts applying mathematical thinking to cooking, which reignites his passion for mathematics. Seeking to explore this connection further, he shifts his ambitions toward a path that integrates numerical insight with culinary practice, aiming to create dishes that satisfy both intellectual curiosity and diners' tastes.
