Synopsis

An ancient artifact called the Holy Grail can fulfill any wish of its possessor. To gain that power, magi—referred to as masters—call forth famed Heroic Spirits known as servants to battle one another in a merciless contest: the Holy Grail War. Traditionally, only the final surviving master-servant duo claims the Grail. The third iteration of the war ended without resolution when the Grail vanished after the fighting. Years later, the magi family Yggdmillennia declares that it holds the Grail and intends to secede from the Mage’s Association. The Association dispatches fifty elite magi to take it back, but an unknown servant slaughters all but one, who is sent back alive with a declaration of war. With two factions now opposed, the conflict takes an atypical shape: each side will field seven master-servant pairs, and the side that loses all its pairs will cede the Grail. As fourteen masters and their summoned servants converge for the contest, the mystical community braces for the onset of the Great Holy Grail War.
