Synopsis

Hitomi Kanzaki, engulfed in deep despondency and wishing only to disappear, is drawn into another realm by Lord Folken and taken to the world of Gaea. There the populace believes she is the Wing Goddess, a figure tied to the fabled Dragon Armor known as Escaflowne. On Gaea, King Van, the last remaining member of the White Dragon Clan, bears his own sorrow and a solemn pledge to avenge the destruction of his homeland by the Black Dragon Clan. With Hitomi's arrival, the destiny of Gaea becomes entwined with her presence; the power of Escaflowne may guide the world toward reconciliation or plunge it into further devastation.
