Synopsis

During a summer holiday beneath the Pacific, Nobita and his companions travel underwater in Doraemon’s submersible. Jaian and Suneo depart in the same craft to search for a sunken treasure and cross into the Atlantic. A crucial protective device Doraemon uses begins to fail, leaving the group exposed to the sea until marine inhabitants intervene. Those beings turn out to belong to the submerged realm of Mu, where Doraemon and the others are detained. They learn that Atlantis, another underwater domain now operated by machines, misinterpreted a volcanic eruption as an attack and is preparing a nuclear strike that could devastate the planet. With assistance from a Mu youth, Nobita’s group works to halt the robotic threat but are captured in the attempt. In a decisive act, Doraemon’s autonomous sub sacrifices itself to destroy the central computer that controls the robots and their nuclear arsenal. Afterward, the group returns to Mu and is honored for their role in preventing the disaster.
