Synopsis

Seventeen-year-old William Twining, proud of his aristocratic background and committed to empirical science, faces ruin when his family loses its fortune. Struggling to maintain his education and accustomed standards, he searches his estate for hidden valuables and inadvertently calls forth Dantalion, an arrogant Grand Duke of Hell. With Lucifer in a mysterious slumber, demon factions vie for influence while a single human known as the Elector holds the authority to appoint a temporary ruler of the underworld. Told that William is a direct descendant of King Solomon and thus holds decisive sway over demonkind, he rejects the claim and denies any supernatural reality. Still, despite his skepticism and reliance on reason, William finds himself unwittingly drawn into the celestial and infernal struggle unfolding around him.
