Synopsis

Patty Lowell, revealed to be the missing scion of a notable household, is discovered living in an orphanage and is placed under the care of J.D. Morrison, who brings her to Dante, proprietor of a small enterprise called Devil May Cry. Known publicly for taking unusual gigs, Dante is persuaded by Morrison to act as Patty’s protector and escort her back to her family. Though he initially resents the assignment—viewing it as little more than babysitting—Dante conceals a far more capable nature: he is an accomplished slayer of demons. When supernatural pursuers target Patty, Dante’s expertise becomes essential. As the pair travel, Dante detects complexities in the situation that suggest hidden motives, and he applies his combat experience and resourcefulness to shield Patty and unravel the underlying threat.
