Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya entrusts Conan Edogawa with an enormous stack of manga, which Conan proceeds to read despite the sheer volume. Meanwhile, the Mine family asks Kogorou Mouri to safeguard a cherished sword kept in their dojo after Kaitou Kid announces his plan to steal it. At the dojo, Conan and the others encounter Yaiba Kurogane and join forces to stop the phantom thief's attempt. As they work to prevent the theft, Conan detects unusual elements surrounding the incident that make the situation more perplexing than it first appears.
