A rare Van Gogh Sunflowers canvas believed lost in a WWII air raid appears at an elite New York auction and is acquired by collector Jirokichi Suzuki and his niece Sonoko for $300 million. Suzuki reveals plans to reunite all seven Sunflowers paintings worldwide in a custom-built, highly secured gallery carved into a Japanese cliff called Lake Rock, and names seven expert guardians—the "Seven Samurai"—to manage the exhibition and protect the works.
