Knight Laios Touden heads a compact expedition into an immense underground labyrinth filled with lethal beasts and traps. In this dungeon, advanced magic lets explorers return to life and retry their journey, enabling repeated attempts to correct past failures. When a dragon swallows Laios' spellcasting sister Falin, her resurrection spell sends Laios and his companions back to the dungeon's entrance to prevent permanent death. Poorly equipped and short on money, Laios commits to battling through the maze to recover Falin before the dragon digests her. Many comrades abandon the quest, but Marcille Donato, an elven magic user, and Chilchuck Tims, a halfling locksmith, remain. Facing the risk of starvation due to their meager resources, the party is joined by Senshi, a dwarf warrior who cooks and safely consumes defeated monsters. Relying on Senshi's culinary skill, Laios and the remaining allies press onward through the dungeon, discovering practical survival lessons and deepening their bonds as they pursue the rescue.
