Synopsis

Beneath an immense alien vessel that hangs over Tokyo, daily life continues despite the persistent shadow of invasion. Three years earlier, extraterrestrial forces arrived and triggered a catastrophic conflict that nearly annihilated humanity. The government mounted a large-scale military response, fueling debate and sparking movements opposing the arms buildup. In this setting, Kadode Koyama and Ouran Nakagawa spend their remaining school days attending classes, enjoying childhood routines, and keeping close to friends. As they approach adulthood, they confront the harsh truths about maturity and witness how the behaviors of adults—marked by betrayal and destruction—reshape their understanding of who truly endangers human survival. Gradually, they come to see that the deeper menace may not be the invaders above but the choices and failings of humankind itself.
