Synopsis
Decades ago, a massive spatial quake—an unexplained vibration in space—ravaged the Eurasian landmass and caused immense loss of life. Since that catastrophe, smaller spatial quakes still occur sporadically. Shidou Itsuka, an ordinary high school student living with his younger sister Kotori, is drawn into the crisis when a looming spatial quake threatens their city. In the aftermath he encounters a mysterious girl who is a Spirit, an entity whose presence triggers these spatial disturbances. The encounter draws violent attention from the Anti-Spirit Team, a force intent on eliminating Spirits by any means. Opposing that hardline tactic is Ratatoskr, an organization dedicated to protecting Spirits and led, unexpectedly, by Kotori. Pressed into service by his sister, Shidou is given a different approach: instead of fighting Spirits, he must win their affection. Tasked with seeking out and earning the trust of Spirits, Shidou’s personal efforts become central to preventing further catastrophe while navigating clashes between opposing factions.
