Synopsis

Mina Tepes, the monarch of vampires, publicly announces her species' existence and proposes creating a refuge in Japan called the Vampire Bund. Her family’s resources are used to address the nation’s financial obligations in exchange for permission to establish this sanctuary, intended as a safe place for vampires. Her proclamation, however, provokes resistance from humans who view her attempt at coexistence with distrust. Akira Kaburagi, who has long dismissed the idea of vampires and has been unsettled by references to them, lives a mostly ordinary life after suffering a head injury a year earlier. When he encounters Mina, she awakens suppressed memories in him and he begins to defend her instinctively, unaware of the reasons. Akira eventually learns a far stranger truth about himself: he is a werewolf bound by birth to guard the vampire queen, even to the point of dying for that duty. As tensions escalate around the Vampire Bund, Mina and Akira navigate a hazardous relationship that reveals the depth and consequences of their connection.
