Synopsis

In 2017, the Holy Britannian Empire advances across Europe. To reduce mounting losses, the military assembles Wyvern (W-0), a squad made up of displaced Japanese nationals called Elevens. Drawn from impoverished districts, these young pilots operate Knightmare frames—bipedal combat machines—on perilous assignments where survival is uncertain, seeking recognition through their missions. When a European unit trying to reclaim a key city becomes trapped, Wyvern is dispatched to extract them. Lieutenant Akito Hyuuga, a tactical prodigy nicknamed "Hannibal's Ghost," is part of the team. The intended extraction turns catastrophic after a commanding officer triggers a Knightmare self-destruct to inflict maximum casualties on the Britannian forces, leaving Akito as the sole survivor of the operation.
