Synopsis

Five years after enigmatic buoyant spheres descended and altered gravity, Tokyo lies sealed inside a colossal bubble and submerged in a warped sea; the government has declared the area off-limits and most inhabitants fled. Orphans left by that calamity now live illegally within the ruined city, forming parkour crews that compete in hazardous rooftop contests among decaying structures. Hibiki, a standout jumper who can navigate between the floating spheres and believes he detects music coming from Tokyo Tower, embarks toward that source but tumbles into the waters below. He is rescued by an unfamiliar girl he dubs Uta, whose sudden presence will draw him closer to the truths behind the catastrophic event that reshaped their lives.
