Synopsis

Ryouta Sakamoto, a jobless young man living with his mother, is known chiefly as Japan’s top competitor in the online game Btooom!. His routine existence ends when he regains consciousness on an isolated island, a small green crystal lodged in his left palm and no recollection of arriving. He soon discovers the island hosts a deadly reenactment of the video game he masters: participants receive a set of distinctive bombs called BIM and must eliminate others to seize their green crystals if they hope to escape. Initially opposed to violence, Ryouta confronts the harsh reality that many players will resort to lethal measures. He forms an uneasy alliance with Himiko, another player, and together they struggle to survive while gradually uncovering the motives and mechanics behind the lethal contest.
