Synopsis

Humans and Beastmen have clashed for generations; Beastmen, who can shift forms via a genetic trait called the Beast Factor, were driven into hiding. Anima City exists as a refuge where these persecuted beings can live away from human hostility. During the city's tenth-anniversary festival, Michiru Kagemori, who abruptly transforms from human into a tanuki, learns that refuge does not guarantee safety. An explosion in the central square draws her into a confrontation with Shirou Ogami, a formidable wolf who serves as a dedicated guardian of Beastmen. As they chase those responsible for the attack, Michiru’s unusual abilities and enigmatic origins come to light. Together they probe her past and the nature of her powers, raising the possibility that Michiru may hold key significance in the relationship between Humans and Beastmen.
