Synopsis

Taiki Inomata, a newly enrolled first-year student, rises each morning to practice badminton in the high school gym, partly driven by a desire to share the otherwise empty space with Chinatsu Kano, a second-year and the standout of the girls' basketball team whom he admires from afar. Though Chinatsu initially appears distant, Taiki gradually finds small chances to interact with her. Unaware that his dedication and respect inspire Chinatsu to push herself harder, Taiki learns that her family must relocate overseas for work. Chinatsu chooses to stay in Japan to pursue a national championship, and, lacking a place to live, she moves in with Taiki's mother, who has long been friends with Chinatsu's family. Confronted with the reality of having Chinatsu living under the same roof, Taiki commits to elevating his own play to reach the national stage in badminton, hoping also to deepen their connection. Despite showing promise and drawing his coach's attention, Taiki faces a difficult path to secure a spot in the starting lineup, contending with strong upperclassmen. Supported by Chinatsu and his childhood friend Hina Chouno, a gymnast, Taiki strives to make his mark and progress toward their shared aspiration of national competition.
