Synopsis

During her first day of junior high, Mato Kuroi meets Yomi Takanashi, a quiet and reserved girl. Mato is drawn to Yomi and makes efforts to establish a connection. Though Yomi initially keeps her distance, a shared interest in a blue bird decoration, inspired by the book "Li'l Birds At Play," helps them bridge the gap and cultivate a strong friendship. Concurrently, in a distinct, alternate reality, these same individuals manifest as parallel beings: Mato as Black★Rock Shooter and Yomi as Dead Master. The occurrences in one world appear to subtly impact the other, and without their awareness, the girls' fates become intricately interwoven across these two dimensions.
