In a society where animals live like humans, deep mistrust separates carnivores and herbivores. At Cherryton Academy, that rift widens after a predation incident kills Tem, an alpaca who belonged to the drama club. Legoshi, a gray wolf who works on stage crew and has long been feared because of his nature, keeps to himself and suppresses his more threatening impulses, drawing criticism from Louis, a red deer and the club’s assertive leading actor. When Louis covertly trains a replacement for Tem and assigns Legoshi to keep watch, Legoshi meets Haru, a white dwarf rabbit who endures scorn from others. As Legoshi’s feelings for Haru develop, he must confront his predatory urges, the mystery surrounding his friend’s death, and the simmering violence and prejudice embedded in their community.
