Synopsis

Set in 1945 at the height of World War II, this story follows Gen Nakaoka, a spirited young boy living in Hiroshima. As air raids and shortages strain daily life across Japan, Gen and his family cope with scarcity and cling to hope that the war will end soon and spare their city. Unaware that their destiny has already been determined, they face an approaching, unprecedented disaster that will irrevocably alter their community and the nation.
