Synopsis
Seishuu Handa, a talented but vain young calligrapher, faces backlash when a respected artist dismisses his award-winning work as derivative. Sent away by his father to the Goto Islands as both discipline and an opportunity for introspection, he leaves behind his familiar Tokyo comforts and is expected to refine his technique and discover a distinctive artistic voice. Instead of the quiet retreat he anticipates, Seishuu encounters a meddlesome, close-knit island community: lively children led by the spirited Naru Kotoishi, enthusiastic middle school girls, and outspoken older men who all intrude on his attempts to practice. Confronted by their constant interruptions and candid personalities, the proud artist is forced to engage with others, confront his flaws, and gradually learn lessons about creativity, humility, and connection without any sudden turns in plot or explicit spoilers.
