Synopsis

Aika S. Granzchesta, heir and manager of the Himeya Company—an Undine guild of female gondoliers—creates consternation by refusing to accept the family's storied gondola and stepping away from custom. Her apprentice, Azusa B. McLaren, struggles to comprehend this unexpected choice and confronts Aika, but gains little clarity. Seeking understanding, Azusa and other Undines quietly arrange an encounter to learn Aika's motives. As winter approaches over the calm, majestic canals of Neo-Venezia, Aika reflects on the path that shaped her identity as an Undine, trusting that the lessons and memories she has gathered will continue to guide her as she faces an uncertain yet open future.
