Synopsis

An imaginative eleven-year-old orphan, Anne Shirley arrives at the Cuthbert household in Avonlea by chance, where Marilla and Matthew intended to adopt a boy to help with farm duties. Their surprise at finding a spirited girl instead sets the stage for Anne’s formative years. Over the course of her adolescence from eleven to seventeen, the story follows her emotional growth, the bonds she forms and loses, and the challenges that shape her character. Adapted from L. M. Montgomery’s classic, the narrative emphasizes Anne’s vivid inner life, temper, resilience, and the pivotal decisions she faces as she matures, without revealing specific plot outcomes.
