Synopsis

After a ceasefire between Earth's forces and Mars' Vers Empire, humanity enjoys a brief period of calm. Nineteen months later, the Vers princess publicly condemns humans as exploitative and hedonistic, arguing they ravage nature and seek only pleasure. She urges her armored retinue to defend Mars' interests, and open hostilities resume. Slaine Troyard, who has integrated with the Martians and helped secure a temporary lull, watches as hopes for lasting settlement fade. Former combatants and ordinary people who once struggled to survive are drawn back into a violent, disordered confrontation whose outcome will reshape human destiny.
