Synopsis

Following a devastating interplanetary conflict that left Earth shattered and its ecosystems ruined, humanity relocated to colonies on other worlds. A centralized authoritarian authority called the Deep Galactic Trade Organization exercises strict control across these new settlements and has declared music a corrupting force to be eradicated. In response, a successor idol ensemble modeled on the original Earth-based AKB48 emerges as AKB0048. Despite music being criminalized, the group resolves to restore song and performance by traveling between planets to stage concerts whenever possible. To survive both the rigors of life on distant colonies and the threat of arrest, the members endure rigorous training and adapt to new challenges while pursuing their mission to keep music alive under oppressive circumstances.
