Synopsis

Veludo Way, a hub for street performers and theatrical displays, hosts the venue where Izumi Tachibana’s father once led the theater group Mankai Company. After Izumi receives an enigmatic letter, she visits the site only to discover the troupe’s hall faces repurposing because of heavy debt. At the last moment she persuades the creditor to grant one final opportunity on three terms: a successful debut performance is required by the following month, the previously established four all-male sub-troupes must be reformed, and the outstanding debt must be cleared within a year. Additionally, Izumi is required to assume the role of director. Racing against the clock, Izumi recruits five members for the Spring Troupe: Sakuya Sakuma, an eager high schooler; Masumi Usui, a young man who admires Izumi; Tsuzuru Minagi, a would-be playwright; Itaru Chigasaki, a composed office worker; and Citron, a congenial foreigner. Lacking experience, the group must be trained and readied under Izumi’s direction to stage the crucial performance that could revive Mankai Company.
