Synopsis

Mari Tamaki, captivated by the mysteries beyond her everyday life, has long imagined horizons far bigger than her small world. Although she carries deep aspirations, anxiety and fear of her own limits have kept her from pursuing them. Entering her second year of high school, Mari resolves to stop letting her youth slip away, yet remains unable to take the decisive step—until she meets a girl whose ambitions match her own. Shirase Kobuchizawa, driven by the unresolved disappearance of her mother, has devoted herself to raising funds for a journey to Antarctica. Despite facing skepticism and mockery, Shirase insists on undertaking the expedition to search for her mother in a place that feels farther than anything Mari has imagined. Moved by Shirase’s conviction, Mari accepts an invitation to accompany her. Their plan soon draws in Hinata Miyake, an energetic girl eager to make her mark, and Yuzuki Shiraishi, a courteous young woman from an affluent family. Together, the four girls embark toward the frozen south, each propelled by personal longings and the desire to confront their fears, forging bonds as they pursue something deeply meaningful.
