Synopsis
After losing his mother at age two, Nello is raised by his grandfather in a small village. While caring for his aging relative, the boy discovers a dog near death and nurses it back to health, naming the animal Patrasche. The recovery forges a deep companionship: Nello and Patrasche become constant companions. Lacking money, Nello assists his grandfather by selling milk in town, and Patrasche pulls the cart that carries their livelihood. Their daily efforts and quiet bond form the heart of their shared life.
