Synopsis

In a state that publicly claims its war causes no deaths, a concealed group of conscripted fighters endures the reality of constant combat. Citizens with silver hair live protected within eighty-five defined districts, while those who look different are confined to a hidden eighty-sixth group and compelled to engage the enemy’s autonomous Legion under the direction of military supervisors called Handlers. Vladilena Milizé arrives to lead the Spearhead unit as its new Handler, facing social ostracism for her sympathy toward the marginalized troops and persisting in opposing institutionalized mistreatment. Shinei Nouzen commands the Spearhead squadron and bears the burden of being the lone survivor from previous units, carrying the names and wishes of those lost into each battle. As these young people from separate backgrounds intersect, their connection may become a source of hope or drive them deeper into despair amid the cruelty of wartime and systemic injustice.
