Synopsis

Kyou Sogoru, an ordinary high schooler and passionate swimmer from scenic Maihama City, leads a simple life with friends, swimming sessions, and gaming. That routine is disrupted when Shizuno Misaki, an enigmatic young woman, asks him to jump into the school pool with her. The jump transports Kyou into a ravaged realm where humanity fights for survival using large humanoid machines called Zegas against hostile alien forces known as Gards-Orm. In this setting, the resistance group Cerebrum coordinates human efforts to stop the aliens from wiping out mankind. As Kyou joins missions, bonds with other Zega pilots, and confronts repeated battlefield deaths, he is forced to reassess the reality around him and the course of his own existence.
