Synopsis

Ai Ooto, reeling from the suicide of her closest friend Koito Nagase, finds herself aimless and consumed by grief. Guided by a mysterious presence, she acquires a Wonder Egg and, upon breaking it, is transported into a dreamlike realm that manifests during her sleep. There she is assigned the perilous task of rescuing individuals from the traumatic forces that assail them. Believing each rescue might bring her closer to preserving Koito in some meaningful way, Ai navigates a landscape in which other people’s fears, regrets, and buried traumas take tangible form. As she encounters these haunting manifestations, Ai is forced to confront parallels between those struggles and her own, learning about the varied inner battles that afflict people and attempting to save them from their worst nightmares.
