Synopsis

Second-year high school students Mao Tsuchiya and Hisashi Ootomo continue sharing a dorm room despite a difficult beginning. They maintain a pact of three rules: Mao will not reveal that Ootomo is gay and in a relationship; Ootomo will not fall in love with Mao; and both will give each other space when one needs time alone. Their quiet equilibrium is disturbed when the school's film club selects a boys’ love story as its annual project. Ootomo is seen as an ideal fit for the delinquent lead, while Mao serves as the principal photographer responsible for framing every intimate scene. As Mao directs and composes those moments, his suppressed attraction toward his roommate begins to influence the production and complicate their arrangement. Faced with escalating emotional tension in both the film and their daily life, Mao must grapple with these feelings and the consequences they bring.
