Synopsis

An unaired episode included in the Blu-ray collection. When Yuusaku arrives at school with an elaborate bento to share, Ryuuji is shaken by feelings of inadequacy about his own lunch-making. Driven to outdo Yuusaku’s presentation and taste, Ryuuji becomes consumed by competition, taking extreme measures such as bringing a rice cooker to class in his quest for superior bentos. The rivalry escalates until an exchange with Taiga—who offers him a simply seasoned, salty onigiri—leads Ryuuji to a gentle revelation: the significance of a bento lies not solely in its culinary quality but in the affection and intent behind its preparation.
